All Roads Lead to Putnam:
Two Interstate Highways, I-84 and I-684, intersect in Putnam County near Brewster.
The Taconic State Parkway runs directly through Putnam County, extending from Westchester County to Interstate 90, also known as “the Mass Pike,” just south of Albany. Interstate 90 is an east–west transcontinental freeway, and the longest Interstate Highway in the United States. Its western terminus is in Seattle and its eastern terminus is in Boston near Logan International Airport.
The Hudson Line and the Harlem Line of Metro-North Commuter Railroad both traverse Putnam County. You can cheer on the Bronx Bombers by taking their frequent and convenient “Train to the Game” directly to Yankee Stadium on either line. The ride from Brewster Village to Grand Central Terminal takes only one hour and twenty minutes.
Five major airports, John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, Stewart International Airport, and Westchester County Airport, all lie within 75 miles of Putnam County.
