Hudson Valley Film Commission

Empire State Development offers film, television and commercial production tax credits for qualified expenditures in New York State. New incentives for Putnam County, and the mid Hudson Valley region, include an additional 10% tax credit on eligible costs.

These tax credit programs and access to local resources, continue to be the principal factor cited by productions when deciding to bring Film & TV production to New York, contributing billions of dollars to the state’s economy for the use of regional locations, local crew & talent hires, as well as world-class production facilities and vendors.

Recent releases have featured Putnam County in several critically acclaimed productions including “Poker Face” (Peacock), “The Endgame” (NBC/Universal), “White House Plumber” (HBO) and “A Holiday Spectacular” (Hallmark). In addition, indie films continue to film throughout the region.

New improved tax credits include:
* A Program extension through 2034.
* $700 million in annual funding.
* A 30% base credit with an additional 10% “Hudson Valley” bump.
